
The periapical radiograph (PAR) confirms the safety distance to the inferior alveolar nerve (IAN), as well as correct parallelism and adequate spacing between the two implants. The superior cortical outline of the mandibular canal is clearly visualized.
Proper selection of the depth gauge length is critical and should be tailored to each clinical case. In this instance, the use of a long gauge limited the visualization of the most basal bone, whereas employing a medium gauge would have permitted a more comprehensive assessment.
